Specialist clay lubricant to help guard against marring during the clay process.
Some people only use water with their clay bar, but whilst the clay may be fine enough to avoid marring the paint, what about the contamination being removed? Water isnt the best lubricant and whilst you could use a bit of car shampoo, it not a patch on this dedicated clay lube, Glir, by Stjarnagloss. Just spray a little Glir onto a wet panel, and allow the clay to glide effortlessly across the surface. Marring is minimised or avoided altogether and the surfactant formula helps boost cleaning even further.
Effective lubricant for use with clay bars to remove contaminants from your car's paintwork.

Stjarnagloss Glir Clay Lube is an effective lubricant that's specially formulated for use with clay bars to remove contaminants from your car's paintwork. The non-toxic and pH-balanced formula is safe to use on all paint finishes, including clear coats, and provides excellent lubrication to ensure that the clay bar glides smoothly over the surface of your car without causing any damage or marring.
Unlike some other clay lubes, Stjarnagloss Glir Clay Lube leaves no residue or streaks, giving you a clean, smooth finish that looks as good as new. In addition to its use as a clay lubricant, it can also be used as a detailing spray to enhance the shine and gloss of your car's paintwork, making it a versatile addition to any car detailing kit.
Step 1: Wash Your Car
Before using Stjarnagloss Glir Clay Lube, you should thoroughly wash your car to remove any loose dirt and debris. Use a high-quality car shampoo such as Stjarnagloss Matta Matte Shampoo to wash your car, and then rinse it off with clean water.
Step 2: Prepare the Surface
Once your car is clean and dry, it's time to prepare the surface for clay bar treatment:
- Park your car in a shaded area to avoid direct sunlight and heat.
- Spray Stjarnagloss Glir Clay Lube on a small section of your car.
- Work on one section at a time to prevent the clay from drying out.
- Wait a few seconds for the lube to soak into the surface.
Step 3: Use a Clay Bar
Once the surface is adequately lubricated, it's time to use a clay bar:
- Take a piece of clay and flatten it in your hand.
- Gently rub the clay over the lubricated surface in a back-and-forth motion.
- Use light pressure to remove any contaminants from the surface.
- Check the clay regularly for contamination and fold it over to expose a clean surface.
- Once the surface is smooth, wipe it off with a clean microfiber towel.
Step 4: Reapply as Needed
The duration of the Stjarnagloss Glir Clay Lube may vary depending on the size of your car and the level of contamination. If you notice the clay bar sticking or if the surface becomes rough again, reapply the lube and continue the process.
Step 5: Wash and Dry Your Car
Once you've completed the clay bar treatment, it's important to wash and dry your car to remove any remaining clay residue:
- Wash your car again with Stjarnagloss Matta Matte Shampoo.
- Rinse it off with clean water and dry it with a clean microfiber towel.
